Introducción y tendencias en materiales avanzados aplicados a la industria del plástico

CLÚSTER MAV: Advanced materials transforming the plastics industry

The session will open with an introduction to CLÚSTER MAV and an overview of the main trends in advanced materials applied to the plastics industry. This will be followed by presentations from three cluster members, showcasing innovation projects focused on the development and application of new materials with real industrial impact.

The first presentation will be delivered by Benviro, a company specialising in the advanced formulation of 100% biodegradable bioplastics, tailor-made for each client and application. Benviro designs materials adapted to the specific process, application and market requirements of each project, ensuring both technical performance and industrial feasibility. The presentation will show how, through its technological partner approach, bioplastics can become a viable solution today.

Next, Bio2Coat, a spin-off from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, will present its work on the development of biodegradable and active coatings and packaging materials based on biopolymers from renewable sources. These solutions help improve food preservation, reduce food waste and support the transition towards more sustainable packaging systems.

The session will conclude with Bexiflon, a company specialising in fluoropolymers and high-performance technical materials, which will explain how these materials address highly demanding industrial applications, delivering improvements in durability, resistance and efficiency in sectors where material performance is critical.
