Synopsis

Introducing recycled material into plastic injection and extrusion processes (especially post-consumer material) is not always as straightforward as it may initially seem. The variable properties of these materials, differences in bulk density during feeding, and, in many cases, the contamination they may contain can create challenges when it comes to feeding, plasticizing, and obtaining a material with a homogeneous melt.

With our Maxi Melt geometries, carefully designed in close collaboration with each customer, it is possible to improve processes using recycled materials with a high success rate, making it feasible to increase the recycled content in the formulation and even enhance the quality of the resulting melt.

We will show several success stories from both the plastic injection and extrusion industries, in which our Maxi Melt geometries have achieved significant improvements in various process parameters.
