Synopsis
Cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) derivatives offer a sustainable alternative to conventional fossil-based additives for polymer applications. This presentation focuses on the use of CNSL derivatives as bio-based plasticizers in PVC blends and as functional components in rubber compounds. Due to their renewable origin, these materials contribute to a lower carbon footprint while aligning with increasing regulatory and sustainability demands.
In PVC formulations, CNSL-derived plasticizers exhibit good compatibility and effective plasticizing performance, delivering flexibility, improved processability, and balanced mechanical properties. In rubber compounds, they function as sustainable processing aids, enhancing compound workability without compromising performance.
Overall, CNSL derivatives combine environmental advantages with strong functional properties, demonstrating their potential as efficient, bio-based solutions for PVC and rubber applications aimed at reducing reliance on fossil-derived materials.
