Plastics & RubberSynopsis
The European plastics industry is experiencing a progressive loss of competitiveness compared to other regions, as a result of rising costs, regulatory pressure, and the relocation of production. In Spain, this situation is further aggravated by specific factors such as the tax on non-reusable plastic packaging, the increase in imports from non-EU countries, and a lack of regulatory stability that limits investment and innovation.
This session will address how these elements are affecting the ability of Spanish companies to maintain employment, added value, and industrial innovation, and how the plastics industry has become an essential sector for the strategic autonomy of both Spain and Europe.
